Airport Markings

There are three types of airports

  • Civil
  • Military.
  • Joint-Use (Civilian and Military)

On a sectional chart:

A blue symbol indicates that the airport has a control tower.

Military airports are identified by the abbreviations AFB, NAS, AAF, etc.
